摘  要

纺织业是中国的重要支柱产业，纺织术语在中国纺织贸易中也有着不可替代的作用。纺织术语的误译和质量较差等现象随处可见。在纺织术语翻译中寻求功能对等已成为纺织翻译者关注的焦点。本文首先介绍研究背景和研究目的，然后分别总结历年有关功能对等和术语翻译的文献，根据纺织术语的语言特点，归纳出几种纺织术语翻译的方法。接着，作者例举了一些较为典型的术语翻译进行分析，从奈达的功能对等翻译理论出发,对纺织术语的英译原则展开应用性研究。本文主要研究功能对等理论如何对纺织术语互译研究提供指导参考，使纺织术语翻译更加规范，以实现其中外纺织贸易交流和对外宣纺织品贸易出口, 有助于世界对中国纺织品的进一步了解。

Abstract

It is known to all that textile is the pillar industry of China and makes China the largest fabric manufacturer and garment producer. The textile terminology also has become a vital part of international textile business. However, inappropriate phenomena, including mistranslation, translation confusion and non-standard textile terms translations are not uncommon but widespread. Besides, seeking equivalence in textile terminology is viewed as one of the hot concerns textile translators. The writer starts with the introduction of the background of the study as well as the purpose. Then it is the review of functional equivalence and terminology translation. Next the thesis gives methods of textile terminology translation based on the characteristics of textile terminology’s linguistic features and chooses some university textile terms used as samples to elaborate the application of functional equivalence to the translation of textile terminology. The paper mainly explains how practical the functional equivalence theory provides counseling services to textile terms translation, accelerate trade exchanges between China and other countries and strengthen various countries’ understanding of China’s textile industry.
