Abstract
It is a popular phenomenon that westerns have come to our country for the communication of economic and culture since the implementation of reform and opening-up policy in China. Inevitably, they’re meeting plenty of words from the so called Chinese market native vocabulary——a product of the unique society conditions and culture heritage of China. Obviously it is not so easy for foreigners to understand their certain meanings. This paper presents the strategic analysis of the translation for Protogenic words in Chinese market. Translation is not only language conversion, but also cultural communication. Every country or nation has its own unique history background and customs, which results in the differences in their languages and the unique culture contained. Translators are supposed to comprehend foreign culture as well as their own. In addition, it is of great importance to constantly compare them to do perfect translation job. However the differences between cultures and expressions would always bring unexpected difficulties and he who first faces them must be the vocabulary translating. It could never been an easy work to convey quite a number of words and concepts with Chinese characteristics and the characteristics of Chinese national conditions into corresponding words in foreign languages. There are no doubt for the absence of corresponding statements of many Chinese economic words or phrases in English——as a normal phenomenon brought by culture differences. Hence the translators must dedicate to examining the political connotations and values of English words when choosing them during the process of translating Chinese into English.
