摘  要

方言不仅是一种语言现象，还具有浓厚的地域文化色彩,折射出各地不同的社会生活，传递着丰富的地域文化信息和生动的社会人情风貌。中国文学中的方言成分塑造了无数生动的人物形象。方言是文学作品中重要的组成部分。然而，方言在文学作品中的广泛运用也给译者带来了很大的挑战。对于文学作品中出现的方言词汇翻译来讲，如果译者不考虑方言的功能作用，而一概以标准英语来译，那么负载着深刻而浓厚的地域文化的信息将会丧失殆尽，使得目的语读者错过体会异域文化特色的机会，并且难以理解原文的内涵。本文阐释了文学方言及其重要性，并且将从莫言和鲁迅两位作家文学作品的翻译译本出发，深入探究文学方言翻译的研究现状和困境，结合前人学者经验总结出一个较为合理的翻译方法，也希望能借此将更多优秀的中国文学作品以及优良的传统文化传播到世界各国。

Abstract

Dialect, as a regional variety, as well as an important linguistic and cultural phenomenon, frequently occurs both in literature and non-literary genre and plays a very important role in conveying regional and cultural message, the vividness of depicting the literary figures and precious directing value in historical and linguistic research, meanwhile it possesses a unique values in literary creations and appreciation. However, dialect also pose a great challenge on the translation work of translators.If translator failed to take the functions of dialect into consideration when translating dialect in the literary works, the information behind the work and the message that the writer wanted to convey to readers will lose, which will deprive opportunities to experience the features of a different culture for readers who will have difficulties in understanding the original work.In this dissertation the writer introduce the literary dialect and its importance. Also this dissertation approaches the principles and strategies of dialects and slang translation by exploiting the wealth of existing English translation of Chinese dialects and slang from literary works of Mo Yan and Lu Xun. Further, the writer will concludes a effective and practical translation strategy in the hope of bringing Chinese literature and tradition to people across the world.
