摘  要

公示语是在某些载体下，给人以信息、提示、指引和警告等的文字或图文信息。随着我国经济的迅速发展，对外开放步伐和融入全球一体化的进程加快，中国与国际的交往越来越密切，联系越来越频繁，尤其是旅游景点越来越受外国人的青睐。因此为外国人提供简单、易于理解、准确、合适的公示语显得尤为重要。但是我们在翻译公示语时往往会出现许多错误。为了避免这些错误，为了提高公示语的质量，为了给外国人提供一个正确的指引，本文通过例子分析和文献法等方法，了解公示语的功能，分析公示语翻译产生的错误以及解决方法。通过分析发现语法错误和冗余是我们常犯的几类错误，而使用祈使句等是我们常用的方法。本文通过分析，为提高公示语的翻译提供理论依据，为实践提供方法。

Abstract

Public sign is a material that has been written or has a picture on it. And it gives you information, instructions, and a warning. Now with the rapid development of China's politics, economy, and culture, with the opening-up and speeding up the process of integration into the globalization, China is getting closer with the international world, and the contact becomes more frequent. Therefore, it is necessary and important to provide simple, easy-understanding, accurate and appropriate public signs for foreigners who are unfamiliar with Chinese culture. Actually, there are many mistakes appeared in translation of public signs. In order to avoid these errors in translation, to improve the quality of public signs, and to provide foreigners with a proper guidance, thus, it is important to improve the quality of translation of public signs. Through case study and documentation, the author can know the function of public signs, the errors in the translation of public signs and figure out its solutions, finally, this thesis has found that errors like grammatical errors, wordy and redundant words are the common errors in translation of public signs. And accordingly, imperative sentences, ellipsis and conversion are the common approaches. These strategies are often used to translate the public signs into English. Finally, according to the research and analysis, this thesis provides the theoretical basis for improving the translation of public signs, and provides efficient methods for the practice.
