摘要

中国素来是饮食大国,古语有云:“民以食为天”,中国独特的饮食文化是中国古老文明的见证和象征,同时也反映着一个民族的历史文化特点。如今,随着中国经济的快速发展,世界各国游客纷纷来到中国,品尝中式美食,中式菜肴的翻译也得到了更多的关注。恰当的中式菜肴翻译可以传播中国饮食文化,促进中西文化交流发展。因此,中式菜肴翻译值得深入研究。本文运用不同的翻译策略对中式菜肴的翻译进行了研究,试图总结出不同的翻译策略在中式菜肴翻译中有不同的应用和效果。本文收集了餐厅和网络上的中式菜肴翻译,对其进行了研究。总结出中式菜肴的翻译策略有以下几种:音译法,直译法,意译法,音意结合法,直译加注释法,音译加注释法。本文希望通过对中式菜肴的翻译策略的研究,可以促进中西文化交流发展,传播中国饮食文化。

Abstract

China has been a country with varied diet culture. The unique diet culture of China is a symbol of China’s ancient civilization. And at the same time also reflects a nation’s historical and cultural characteristics. Nowadays, with the rapid development of China’s economy, tourists from all over the world have come to China, and taste Chinese dishes. Hence the translate version of Chinese dishes arouse researchers’ interest. Appropriate Chinese dishes translation can promote the communication with western cultures as well as Chinese diet culture. So, it is worthy studying the translation strategies of Chinese dishes. This paper will study the application of different translation strategies on the translation of Chinese dishes basing on translation theory with an attempt to analysis its respective effects of the application of the translation strategies. The Chinese dishes versions are collected from the menu of restaurants and Internet. Chinese dishes translation strategies are as follows: transliteration method, literal translation, free translation, transliteration and free translation method, literal translation plus annotation method, transliteration plus annotation method. This paper attempts to facilitate the communication between Chinese and Western diet culture.
