摘要

具有中国特色政经词汇词汇的翻译在对外翻译占据着重要的地位，做好该项工作有利于让世界更好地了解中国。本文从功能对等的角度出发，结合中国特色政经词汇的特点及其翻译的目标，对其翻译策略进行了研究，认为信息对等和政治对等是中国特色政经词汇英译的两个主要方面。其中，作者根据文化对应程度对此类词汇进行了划分，从而探索对应的翻译策略以达到信息对等的要求。

Abstract

The translation of P&E words with Chinese characteristics occupies an important position in publicity translation, which determines the impression of the world to China. This paper, based on the features of Chinese P&E words and their translation objectives, deals with the translation methods of these words from the perspective of Functional Equivalence, focusing mainly on the equivalence of information and politics. For the part of information, the author has classified the words according to their corresponding degree of culture so as to find the right translation methods.

1. Introduction
With the increasing international exchanges, publicity English especially the translation of P&E words with Chinese characteristics is paid more and more attention to. P&E words with Chinese characteristics are the products of specific national conditions and unique culture of China. Due to their strong Chinese style, high demands for faithfulness, quick development and so on, these words tend to be very difficult to translate. It is quite necessary and helpful to study them theoretically.
Traditional studies mainly emphasize on the translation principles and specific methods instead of guiding theories. Cheng Zhenqiu put forwards the general principle to “emphasize on politics” in his article in 2003. And Wang Nongsheng regards “faithfulness” as the most important. In later studies, many translation theories had been applied in. According to Newmark’s textual function classification theory, these words belong to informative or vocative text, so the translation should focus on the target language. In addition, due attention should also be paid to the Cultural Translation Theory. In the translation of words with Chinese cultural connotations, the Cultural Translation Theory can be boadly adopted which means the foreignizing method can be used.
