摘要

散文是中国文学作品中的杰出代表之一。《故都的秋》是郁达夫的典型代表作，也是散文中杰出的代表作。因其简短朴素却又不失韵味和美感的措辞，此散文吸引了翻译者们的众多青睐也促使翻译者们从这篇文章探讨翻译的问题。对于这篇文章的译本也是各式各样，不同的翻译者都有不同的翻译侧重点。然而从尤金•奈达的翻译对等角度对这篇散文提出翻译策略的却还不多。此篇论文从满足功能对等角度下的三个对等出发讨论了这篇散文的翻译策略：风格对等，主要探讨文本的语气和结构的保留问题，以及文章节奏的问题；文化对等，主要讨论特别文化词项和特别文化语言表达的处理问题；意义对等，主要讨论所指意义和语境意义在翻译中的问题。经过以上的讨论，本文意图能给出郁达夫这篇散文的翻译新的翻译观点和翻译角度，同时也希望能给其他散文的翻译一定的启发，从而为散文翻译提供参考价值。

Abstract

Chinese essay is one of the distinguished works of our Chinese literatures. Autumn in Peiping is a representing work of Yu Dafu as well as of Chinese essays. With succinct language and characteristic wording it has been attracting most of our modern translators and inspiring them to do translation study with this essay. Although, investigation has come to throw light on some basic strategies on translating essays, few studies present strategies in terms of functional equivalence which is the core of the translation theory of Eugene A.Nida. This paper does a study on the strategies of translating this essay in terms of the three equivalences under the Functional Equivalence: stylistic equivalence, the paper has discussed equivalence in terms of tone and sentence form and tempo of the sentence; cultural equivalence, discussed cultural-specific item and cultural speech expression; meaning equivalence,  discussed the referential meaning and textual meaning in translation. With the discussion, the paper intends to throw light on new perspective and angle of translating Autumn in Peiping as well as give some inspiration of translating and appreciating other essays which make this paper valuable for reference.

1. Introduction
1.1 Background
The recent translation method from different viewpoints is mainly reflected on the translation of Chinese essays. Being an influential translator in the field of translation theory and practice, Eugene A.Nida successfully makes his translation equivalence famous in Chinese translation, enabling lots of translators to have a thoroughly new translation theory to do translation work.
As a matter of fact, the three translation equivalences under the functional equivalence contain nearly all factors that a qualifying translation concerns. Therefore, to notice the functional equivalence in the translation is dispensable.
