摘 要
本文是针对中学英语教学中文化教育的作用及培养而展开的,文化教育的重要性人们已经了然了,但在学校教育的实际教学中,教师对文化教育的重视程度还不是很高,仍然以传统的教学方式为主。对于文化方面的教育只是简单的带过,并没有起到实质性的作用。因此,为了了解当前中国英语教学中文化教育所占的比重,人们可以通过对前人已有的研究结论以及对现在中学英语教学的实际情况的进行探讨和询问。通过对这个课题的研究,人们可以更加深刻的了解到文化教育在当今社会的英语教育中的重要性;并通过研究探讨,对文化教育有了一定的了解之后,做出相应的应对措施,如引导学生对他国的文化产生兴趣,培养学生的文化意识以及如何培养等。

Abstract
The article is talking closely around the topic of the function and cultivation of culture awareness in middle school English teaching. As everyone knows that cultural education is important, however, in practical teaching, teachers are still not take too much time on the culture education and keep using the traditional teaching modes, that is, exam-oriented education, which emphasizes on the grammar teaching. Most English teachers are not adjusting the new policy about the cultural education; they may just point out the different culture but never give further explanation. For that, students are still confused and the problem can’t be solved. Because students have no idea about that and have no method to check it. This article is written after the study of the researches which made by some educationalists or professors, and the inquiry of the middle school students and teachers. After the research, you can get much more profound understanding of the importance of the cultural education in the middle school English teaching, and knew how to solve the problems which appeared in the practical teaching. For example, how to arouse students’ interests of foreign cultures, and how to cultivate students’ cultural awareness, and so on.

1 Introduction
For quite a long time, English teaching in middle school is based on Structuralism, which emphasizes on the internal structure of language cognition, vocabulary, phrases, grammar, etc., but lack of the target language’s cultural background knowledge teaching. As a result, the students who have learned English for many years often make mistakes in the communication because of the lack of the knowledge of cultural differences between the two languages. Have noticed about this phenomenon and with the development of reformation of English teaching, people have paid much more attention on the acculturation and cultural awareness, many famous professors and educationalists studied about this from their own prospective, they published academic monographs and dissertations at home and abroad.
