摘 要
随着新技术革命的飞速发展,知识的爆炸和更新对外语教学提出了新的挑战。为了加速实现我国四个现代化,获取国外先进科学技术的新信息,吸收先进经验,了解国外政治经济动态,加强国际间科技文化交流,培养外语阅读的能力已经成了一个关键性的问题。较好的英语阅读能力可以帮助大学生更快的介绍新信息,更好的与世界接轨。然而大学生中存在着许多英语阅读障碍,严重影响了他们的英语阅读能力,这是不利于大学生自我发展的。本文从英语阅读的重要性入手,从语言学和认知心理学的角度分析了造成英语阅读障碍的原因,阐述了解决英语阅读障碍的主要出路,即帮助学习者掌握阅读策略的知识,在阅读的不同阶段使用适合的阅读策略,从而有效提高阅读能力,不断增强自信心,变消极为积极的情感和动机。

Abstract
With the rapid development of the new technological revolution, the explosion and updating of knowledge present a new challenge of English teaching. In order to accelerate the realization of China's four modernizations to get the new information of science and technology, to learn the experience, to understand of foreign political and economic dynamics, to enhance international technological and cultural exchanges, it is greatly important to develop the ability of English reading. Reading ability enables the colleague students to get the new information more quickly to help them come up with the changes of the world. But there are many reading barriers for colleague students which have deep impact on their English reading. It is not good for the colleague students’ development. My thesis starts from the importance of English reading to analyze the reasons why the college students have so many barriers in English reading. It is to help the colleague students to find the solution to the barriers. In other words, it is to help the colleague students master the knowledge of reading strategies and use suitable the reading strategies at different stages. So they can improve reading ability, constantly enhance self-confidence and change negative into positive emotions and motivation into positive ones.

1 Introduction
This paper is an important part of English study, which is also an effective means of English study. It can improve the ability of listening, speaking and writing. The skill of reading is a basic ache in college student’s English comprehensive skill. To some extent, the ability of reading is the sticking point of listening, speaking, writing and translation. By reading, the students can extend their knowledge, enlarge their vocabulary. They could avoid misunderstanding with each other during the communication. However, most students lost their score of reading comprehension. They don’t get main idea of the passage. So, they can only answer the questions by guessing. This means the students have a great problem in reading.
