摘 要
在英语教学中,情感因素起着十分重要的作用。情感是人对客观事物是否符合自己的需要而产生的态度体验。情感包括四个方面,它们分别是动机,自尊,焦虑及移情。他们之间彼此紧密相连,不能独立存在。积极的情感能够激发学生的学习兴趣和热情,提高学生学习英语的效率。然而,消极的情感抑制了学生的学习动机,妨碍了学生的英语学习进度。本文主要介绍了情感因素的相关知识及其在英语教学中的作用,通过阐述克拉申的情感过滤理论和罗杰斯的人本主义理论,分析了情感因素对中学英语教学的影响,并且提出在教学过程中教师应该控制自己的情感,把学生作为主体,才能很好地完成教学任务。

Abstract
Affect plays a very important role in the teaching of English. Affect is a person’s attitude that expresses whether he or she need objective things or not. Positive affect can stimulate students’ interests and enthusiasm so as to improve the efficiency of learning English accordingly. However, negative affect may suppress students’ motivation and prevent their progress of learning English. This paper focuses on the description of affect and the analysis of its effects. Affect includes four factors: motivation, self-esteem, anxiety and empathy, which relate to each other closely and can not exist independently. In this paper, the research methods mainly include documental method, comparative method, inductive method and citing method. According to Krashen’s “Affective filter” hypothesis and Roger’s humanistic learning concept, we can see some impacts of affect. Through the analysis of the definition of affect and its factors and function, a clear understanding of affect is presented. Related on the theoretical knowledge, the effect of the positive affect and the problems caused by negative affect and how to overcome them are explained. So during the teaching process, teachers should control their affects and put the students in first place, then the students may achieve the success in the teaching tasks.

1 Introduction
This paper mainly focuses on affect and its effects. It contains four aspects: motivation, self-confidence, anxiety and empathy, which relates to each other closely, each one can not depart the others to exist independently. Affect is a positive factor that improves a better teaching in middle school English teaching. Positive affect can increase students’ will to learn English and reduce their anxiety. Negative affect causes students perform dull in the classroom and prevent the initiative to accept knowledge.
