摘 要
语言是人们用于沟通的重要工具之一,要想掌握一门语言,最重要的是运用,而这种语言的运用就体现在交流。但是更多的学生、家长、老师在乎所谓的考试。在21世纪的今天,社会生活和经济全球化在中国改革开放的政策下,信息正在快速发展,中国和其他很多国家有了越来越多的合作。因此,这就要求我们国家拥有很多具有丰富知识的人,超强的信息理解能力,和更高的英语水平。其中,英语口语非常重要。但是在现今的中小学英语教学中,学校远远还没有意识到这一目标。在中国,大多数的中小学学生英语口语交际能力很差。所以导致在高中的老师和学生产生了“哑巴英语”。语言是一种声音符号,人们以此来相互沟通。会说一门外语也就意味着掌握这门外语。该篇论文运用查阅资料,调查研究的方法,在以往中外学者提出的英语口语教学弊端的基础上,呈现几种有效的改善策略。增强学生学习英语的兴趣,从而提高学生学习英语的积极性和主动性。

Abstract
Language is a tool for communication. So it is more important to speak it out, however, nowadays people pay more attention to exams. In 21st century, with the globalization of information technology China’s opening-up process is accelerating. China and other countries will have more and more co-operations. Therefore, it requires more people who possessed sound professional knowledge and higher English level. Among them, oral English is the most important. But the present English teaching in Elementary school is far away from realizing this goal. In China most elementary school students have poor oral communicative ability. “Dumb English” is perplexing most English teachers and students in high school. Language is a system of arbitrary vocal symbols used for human communication. People use it to contact with each other. Speaking foreign language well is an important symbols of master it. The purpose of oral English teaching is not only to teach students how to speak, but also to teach them more things for better communication. The thesis will mention some factors which are the barriers to improve students’ English communication ability. Such as poor English learning environment, poor quality of language teachers. And also will provide several strategies for oral English teaching.

1 Introduction
The 21st century is an age of globalization, one important instrument is to grasp one or two more foreign languages and English comes first (Jun Xu, 2010). In recent years, English teaching in primary and middle school of China has gone through much reform and the importance of oral English teaching has been widely concerned. The new English teaching textbooks and materials focused more on teaching the skills of speaking. In fact, students had paid a lot attention to their ability of oral communication. But there is still a long way to go.
