摘 要

  课堂提问不仅是语言输出的重要渠道,而且也是学生语言输出的有效途径,在英语课堂教学中具有重要的意义。本论文简介课堂提问的概念以及功能,通过分析课堂提问原则、课堂提问策略及提问策略的例证,阐述课堂提问对学习英语的重要性。教师应当以学习者为中心,鼓励,帮助和指导学生积极参与交际活动,而作为课堂教学的一种基本方法的课堂提问,课堂提问贯穿于教学课堂教学的始终,是教师组织开展活动的重要手段,在教学实践中扮演着不可替代的重要作用,具有一定的实践指导意义。

Abstract

Questioning in language classroom is not only an important source of language input, but also a contributing factor of students’ language output and therefore it plays a critical role in the English class teaching. This paper introduces the concept and function of classroom questions. Based on the analysis of classroom questioning principle, classroom questioning strategies and some example of questioning strategies, the present study elaborates on the importance of questioning to English teaching and learning. Teacher should encourage, help and guide students to participate in communicative activity. As one of the basic teaching methods, classroom questioning, passed through teaching, is an important means for teacher to carry out teaching activity. It also plays an irreplaceable important role in the teaching practice, and has a profound and practical significance.

1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the study
Since 1970s, many people concern about language classroom questioning. The description and suggestion of classroom cooperation becomes one of the most important aspects of classroom-based researches. Cultivating the students’ communication ability is the ultimate purpose of English teaching. Not only the knowledge of language itself but also the communication abilities and teamwork corporation should be educated by the English teacher of junior and senior school. Schools should pay attention to cultivate students’ ability of cooperation and communicative competence together with their intelligence. The cooperation teaching plays a very important role in English class. It has many advantages. First of all, it can make classroom language studying to be a social activity. Second, it can also create optimum environments. Moreover, the cooperation teaching can offer more learning opportunities for students to learn knowledge as well as to practice using English in the classroom through the process of live person-to-person interaction. In other words, interaction can make students to be more active in English classroom, and helps to improve language learning and language acquisition. In a word, it’s necessary for English teacher to let classrooms be active.
