Abstract and Key Words
Abstract: This study is aimed at the investigation of effective ways to improve primary school English teaching A common phenomenon is that pupils' interest in English learning is decreasing as their English level goes up.and many young learners of English become more and more passive in English class. Based on the findings of some related studies, it is pointed out that learning interest is a good teacher for pupils to learn a foreign language, and it is an important task for primary school English teachers to arouse students' interest at present. In this paper, some specific methods directed at the improvement of primary students' interest in English learning are illustrated. Some suggestions are proposed concerning the ways to activate primary school students' learning interest and some important guidelines are also listed for conducting classroom activities.

摘要:本论文研究了提高小学英语教学的一些有效方法。一个比较普遍的现象是:随着语言学习的升级,学生对学校英语课的兴趣逐步降低,小学生们对课堂活动的参与也越来越被动。根据以前的报告研究我们得知,兴趣是学好语言的老师。小学英语教学应摒弃传统教学模式,要以激发学生学习兴趣为出发点,探索一套适合小学生生理,心理特点及认知发展水平的模式。本文阐明了一些针对提高小学英语兴趣的教学方法。

1. Introduction
At present, almost all the students in China learn English from their teachers and the classroom. as a place where various kinds of teaching activities take place .So great attention has been paid to classroom English teaching. However, the whole situation of English teaching primary schools is not satisfactory. There are many problems existing and classroom teaching needs to be improved
It is known to all that interest is an important and crucial factor to influence motivation in foreign langue acquisition. "Interest refers to a state of wanting to learn or know. It can also be called curiosity". Some studies on motivation in foreign language acquisition, suggest that interest occurs when learners have a higher level of motivation. Usually primary school pupils are curious about many things around them, and desirous to perceive them. However, their interest is rather direct and unstable, that is, they do not care about the significance or the result of English learning as an adult does. In addition to keeping their direct interest in the teaching, the teacher should also help them be aware of the significance and importance of English learning.
