1. Introduction
To study a new language only with classroom instruction and practice is not enough, so the extra-curriculum activities are necessary for students.
In long’s “interaction hypothesis”, he said that during the communication between the language learners, “two-way communication” is more useful than “one-way communication”. If one can not understand the other, he can tell his partner, so they can discuss together; this can improve the understanding between learners. This indicates that the second class is a place for students to practice “two-way communication”.
The National English Curriculum has made it clear that the ultimate goal of education is to make students become citizens with integrity. It attaches great importance to the development of students’ individuality, while the “two-way communication” concentrates on cooperation. Actually, how to conduct the extra-curriculum activities for primary school students under the guidance of the National English Curriculum means, in a sense, how to make students’ individualities standing out during the “two-way communication” activities. The most important thing is how to carry out these extra-curriculum activities smoothly.
