Abstract and Key Words

Abstract: Language and thinking are related to each other. Language is a thinking tool for expression. Writing is inevitably influenced by thinking patterns as a form of language expression. This paper analyzes the impact of the differences on words selection, sentence patterns and section structures through the different thinking patterns. And then put forward some suggestions for the teaching of English writing so that the students can change the thinking patterns during writing and improve their proficiency of English writing.

摘要：思维和语言密切相关，语言是思维表达的主要工具。写作作为语言表达的一种形式，必然会受到思维模式的影响。本文从英汉思维模式的差异入手，分析了不同的思维模式对写作中词语选择、句式结构和段落结构的影响。同时，为英语写作教学提出了相应的教学对策，以使学生在写作时能够转换思维模式，提高英语书面表达水平。

1.    Introduction
The teaching of English writing is an important part of English teaching. For long time, teachers and students work so hard for the English writing, and many new ways of English writing teaching have come out, but the result is not so well. The level of the students’ English writing is still lower. The reason for this phenomenon is so complex. But there is a problem that we can’t neglect is the Chinese thinking pattern covers most part of English articles. This article does not conform to the English expressions and can not achieve the purpose of writing communication.
Language and thinking influence on each other. The thinking pattern restricts the language structure and style. It also has an influence on layout of articles. There are great differences between English and Chinese thinking patterns. These differences are not only reflecting on language itself but also reflecting on the using language. Some foreign researches have shown that the process of the students’ writing has the characteristics with bilingual. Hu Shuzhong points out that if the English learner wants to learn English writing well, firstly they should know the thinking pattern of English people and then carry on the effective imitation. From his point we can find that the differences of thinking pattern do a great influence on the level of English writing. This paper will expound the impact of differences between Chinese and English thinking patterns on English writing from three parts: selected words, sentence patterns and sections structures.
