摘 要

家庭生活中父母对子女的养育问题是全人类也是每一个小家庭所关注的问题。当代社会在各个领域，人们的经济、文化及社会生活正在发生着令人头晕目眩的各种变化。网络便是其中一例，它取代传统大众传媒的地位，成为越来越多的人们日常生活不可或缺的一部分。同时，家庭生活也正面临着众多挑战并呈现出新的时代特点。
对子女良好的养育是经营健康家庭生活的核心关键所在。但是很难去定义什么才是好的子女养育。在不同的国家和地区，处在不同历史及社会背景下，也不容易判定孰好孰坏。但差异并不意味着隔阂，对两国的情况做一个比较分析可以帮助我们更好的反思自己并提高改进。同时，探究这些差异背后的民族根源更有助于我们了解自身的民族文化与民族心理。
总之，研究中美父母子女养育方面的各自特点正是我们应当为建设更幸福的家庭所作的努力。

Abstract

Family parenting has always been a great concern for every single family and for mankind as a whole. Dizzying and overwhelming changes taking place in nowadays world, sweep through every corner of our economical, cultural and social life. For instance, Internet, taking the place of traditional mass media, has become an indispensable part of everyday life; inevitably, family life is brought face to many challenges, among which, some are unprecedented and take on characteristics of the times.
Good parenting is the core key to the development of healthy family life. However, there is no standard answer to define the so-called “good parenting”. In different nations and regions, under different historical and social backgrounds, it is not an easy task to judge which one is right, wrong, or better. But differences don’t equal obstacles and an analysis of Chinese and American parenting may help us reflect on ourselves and give us inspirations to improve. Meanwhile, exploring the ethical roots behind these differences is of significant meaning to know better of our ethical culture and psychology.
Learning more about ourselves and our American counterparts definitely is a right and necessary thing to do among our efforts to make family a happier place.

Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1Significance of Present Study
Economically speaking, a family used to be and to some extent today is still a production unit in China. Though great changes have taken pace in family structure and its partial functions, the tradition China that blood relationship has always been the most solid bond dating back to ancient China is still deeply rooted in our 21st century culture. Family is an extremely important environment where children are raised and educated and there are rarely substitutes for the roles parents are expected to play. Thus it is self-evident good parenting is of crucial significance to a kid and furthermore, to the overall population quality of one generation.
