摘要
随着社会经济的快速发展,国家越来越需要多方面的人才。而英语则成为与世界各国交流必不可少的媒介。英语教学受到更多的重视。《全日制义务教育英语课程标准》指出学生的发展是英语课程的出发点和归宿。英语新课程标准要求改变学生的学习方式,鼓励学生在教师的引导下自主学习、探究学习、合作学习等等,从而改变长期以来学生接受学习方式的单一化、片面化。
合作学习是20世纪 70年代初兴起于美国,并在70年代中期至80年代中期取得实质性进展的一种富有创意和实效的教学理论与策略。上世纪90年代初,合作学习被引入我国,由于其改变了以教师讲授为主,学生被动接受的课堂模式,受到广大师生的普遍欢迎。
本论文共五个部分。第一部分为引言,提出论文的研究目的和意义,以及小组合作学习的简单介绍。第二部分为文献综述,对小组合作学习的理论基础,特性和基本元素进行综合论述。第三部分为探究小组合作学习有效性得以实现的要求。第四部分为小组合作学习的优势以及劣势。第五部分为本论文的一个总结。

Abstract
With the rapid development of our society and economy, China needs more and more human resources of all different kinds. "Full-time compulsory English curriculum standards " points out that the development of students is the starting point and end-result of English courses. The new English curriculum standards change student's study way, encourage students to get autonomic learning, inquiry learning and cooperative learning, and then change the simplification and one-sided of the ways of students’ acceptting learning for so long time.
Cooperative Learning was rising in America in 1970s. And from the mid of 1970s to the mid of 1980s, it had made substantial progress in creative and effective teaching theories and strategies. Early in the 1990s, cooperative learning was introduced to China and was popularly welcomed since this methodology diverted the traditional mode of teacher-teaching and student-listening classroom teaching,
The thesis consists of five chapters in all. Chapter 1 is an introductory part which proposes the importance, the necessity and the brief introduction of the research. Chapter 2 is the literature review of the thesis. This part generally reviews theoretical foundations, characteristics and basic elements of Group Cooperative Learning. Chapter 3 points out the requirements of the realization of the effectiveness of Group Cooperation Learning. Chapter 4 is about advantages and disadvantages of Group Cooperative Learning. Chapter 5 is a concluding part.
