摘要:

众所周知,第二语言的学习会受到母语的影响,母语与第二语言的关系常常是各类研究的主题。然而,母语经常被认为是二语习得过程中的障碍。事实上,母语不能仅仅被看作是一种“干扰”,而应看作是一种“借用”和“调解”的手段,是一种学习者用来弥补二语知识的不足,完成交际任务的宝贵资源。虽然英语和汉语属于不同的语种,但两者之间也确实存在着许多的相似之处,而这些相似之处又使得母语能够在不同的语言层面上发挥其正迁移的作用。本文以在读本科生为对象,主要以问卷的形式进行调查,并对部分被调查者进行了采访,然后将所得的数据和结果进行了整理分析。调查研究最终表明,母语在二语习得过程中发挥着积极的作用,是促进二语习得的一个重要因素。

Abstract:

It is a popular belief that the second language acquisition is strongly influenced by the learner’s mother tongue, and the relationship between the mother tongue and the second language has long been a subject of research. However, the mother tongue has sometimes been seen as a barrier to the second language acquisition. As a matter of fact, the mother tongue cannot just be regarded as “interference”, but the “intercession”, a resource which learners can resort to for making up insufficiency of the second language knowledge and fulfilling the communicative task. Although English and Chinese belong to two different language families, there do exist cross-linguistic similarities, which enable the positive transfer to occur in various linguistic levels. The author chooses the undergraduates in University as the subjects, asks them to answer some questions in the questionnaire, select some of them to have a face-to-face interview, and analyzes the data and results collected. The study finally shows that the mother tongue can play a positive role in the second language acquisition and is an important factor to promote the second language acquisition.
