Abstract:
Aiming to find out the problems in teaching English listening in junior middle school today and to put forward some suggestions on cross-cultural communicative English teaching, the author analyzes the current situations of present English listening teaching in junior schools and the importance of cultural background in English teaching by discussing the relationship between cultural difference and the feature of listening teaching. Hence, junior middle school students can benefit more from their English class and enhance their cross-cultural competence.

摘要:
随着不断加强的经济全球化趋势和日益密切的国际交流,现在中国社会迫切需要具有丰富的外语国家文化知识,可以与不同文化背景的人精确交流的人才。由于中国把英语当作第二外语教学,这一现状便给中学英语教育带来了一个巨大的挑战。本文旨在讨论英语国家和中国的文化背景差异,跨文化交际理论,听力教学方式以及这三者之间密不可分的联系。作者在前三章分析了英语听力教学中的文化渗透现状,跨文化交际和英语听力教学的概念和重要性,进而在四章中阐述了跨文化交际知识在中学英语听力教学中的误区,并提出了一些自己的意见。希望通过笔者的研究可以或多或少地提高中学英语听力教学质量和中学生的跨文化交际能力。最后,本文在结语部分指出了本研究存在的缺陷和不足。

1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the thesis
With the unprecedented development of the shifts in the global economy and the growth of world’s population, as the most widely used language, English plays a more important role in China. The advanced scientific technology and various ways of communication shorten the gap of people from different cultural background and it gives a positive influence on cultural globalization. So, it is a tendency that cross-cultural communication will further go into people’s daily life and become an irreplaceable part.
