Abstract:

English is the most common used language in the global world. It is so obvious that everybody attaches great importance to it, especially for the parents and teachers. English teaching includes listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. English reading comprehension is a comprehensive type which includes many English skills. That is why in many different English examinations, reading comprehension is inevitable. Its importance cannot be ignored. In order to have the most efficient classes within limited class time, we need to design a scientific approach of English comprehension teaching to help students improve their comprehensive skills.
This paper aims at discussing the characteristics and difficulties in English comprehension teaching. In view of the following analysis, it is expected to be found  a most efficient, systemic and feasible way to teach comprehension.

摘  要：

英语作为一门世界通用语言，在经济全球化的今天显得格外重要。所以英语教学的问题引起了家长和老师的足够重视。英语教学内容包括听、说、读、写、译。而阅读理解作为一门综合考察的题型，包括了英语教学内容的大部分，在各种能力考试中占据举足轻重的地位。寻求科学有效地阅读理解教学的方法可以在有限的课堂时间收到最好的效果。帮助学生提高各项技能，提高自我综合素质。
本论文主要探讨英语阅读理解教学的特点及阅读理解教学存在的问题，在分析这些的基础上得到阅读理解教学的最有效、最科学的比较系统可行的教学方法。

1. Introduction
1.1 The importance of English reading comprehension teaching
     Reading comprehension can train students in many aspects at the same time. Students need to read and understand articles first and then they will know how to use the words or the sentences. Thus, the importance of English reading comprehension  is obvious. A good approach for teaching will guide students to success. It gives students right methods to learn English even after they graduate from university. In addition, English reading comprehension supplies people with lots of information. It is the best way to get information; also it is the most efficient way to train students’ logical thinking.
