Abstract

Education is a social behavior and a major way to pass on social cultures and experiences. Family education is the earliest and most important one of all education. Family education is the foundation of school education and social education, it cannot be replaced by school and social education. The family is the first school of children and is also the eternal school of lifelong education. Family education is the foundation of education, the effects of family education on children are greater than school education. 
Modern Family is an American television sitcom. The program which reflects the real life of American family is about three American families. Through the study of family education reflected in Modern Family, this paper analyzes the family education between China and America.
This paper consists of four parts. First it introduces the definition of family education. Followed by the comparative study of family education, the paper analyzes the main characteristics of family education and investigates the differences between China and America. Then, it analyzes the causes for the differences between Chinese and American Family. In the last part, this paper points out the main problems and some misunderstandings in today’s Chinese family education. The paper can provide us some good ideas of American family education and offer some good suggestions for our Chinese parents.

教育既是培育人的一种社会行为，也是传递社会文化和经验的一种主要方式。家庭教育是所有教育方式中最早期也是最重要的一种。家庭教育是整个学校教育和社会教育的基础，它是学校教育和社会教育无法取代的。家庭是孩子受教育的第一个学校，也是终身受教育的永恒学校。家庭教育是教育的开端和基础，对孩子的影响比学校教育的影响更大。
《摩登家庭》是一部美国情景喜剧，故事主要围绕三个有关联的美国家庭展开，其剧情反映了真实的美国家庭生活。本文通过研究《摩登家庭》中所反映的家庭教育，对中国与美国的家庭教育进行分析。
本文由四个部分组成。首先介绍了家庭教育的定义。其次通过对家庭教育的比较研究,分析家庭教育的主要特征，并找出中国和美国在这之间的差异。然后分析了造成中国和美国的家庭教育之间的差异的原因。最后找出当今中国家庭教育存在的主要问题，和我国家庭教育的一些误区。然后找出一些我们可以向美国家庭教育学习的好的经验和给中国父母的一些好的建议。
