Abstract

Nowadays, pop music has been spreading the most widely among young people as a popular form of entertainment. With the popularization of the Internet and the high speediness of information dissemination, English pop music has become more accessible and increasingly popular in young people’s music playlist. Meanwhile, the inflexibility of traditional learning style has been gradually impairing students’ interests in and enthusiasm for language learning. Many of them develop a resistant attitude to learning language. Pop music is not only a musical form, but a cultural carrier, in which there is diverse information, such as arts, technologies and customs. The expressions and sentences in English pop songs, the cultural background delivered by the lyrics and the pronunciation of the singers are all useful learning materials for language learning. Based on information from literatures and the author’s own experience, the paper aims to analyze the influence of English pop music on English learning and provides a general learning method of learning English through listening to English pop songs. Thus, we can combine English learning with entertainment properly and increase learners’ interests and efficiency in English learning.

在当今时代，流行音乐作为一种时尚的休闲娱乐方式，在年轻人中传播得最为广泛。随着互联网的普及和信息的高速传播，英文流行歌曲开始在年轻人中越来越流行。与此同时，传统学习的呆板也在吞噬着学习者学习语言的兴趣和热情，许多人甚至产生了对语言学习的排斥情绪。流行音乐并不单纯是一种音乐形式，它是艺术、科技、风俗等文化元素的充分融合,是多元文化形式的集中体现。英文歌曲中的语句表达，歌词里传递的文化背景，以及歌手的发音，都是很好的学习材料。本文旨在通过归纳整理和实践经验，分析英文歌曲对英语学习的影响，并提出一套如何通过听英文歌曲来促进学习英语的方法，将英语学习与娱乐生活有效地结合起来，从而提高学习英语的兴趣和效率。
