Abstract
   
     Throughout history, education is important for personal growth and social development. As one of the most usual ways of imparting knowledge, education has become important to most of people. However, people concern more about school education, but the fact is family education is as important as school education. In recent years, family education has been a concern of the society. As we all know, good family education is closely related to children’s thoughts and behaviors, and even related to the future of the nation. With the increasing cultural exchanges between China and Western countries, some Chinese rethink Chinese family education as well as appreciate the American family education, while some parents are admired of typical Chinese family education. These two different kinds of attitudes arouse the question: Is typical Chinese family education suitable for all the Chinese family?
Many articles and reports in China say that there are some good points which Chinese parents should learn from American family education; while Newspapers in the U.S approve of the Chinese parents’ achievements in improving children’s academic record. Thus this paper does a comparison between Chinese and American family education to detect which kind of family education is better for Chinese children? How to solve problems in Chinese family education? Through the comparison between Chinese and American family educations, this paper will make great efforts in finding a new way about family education which may help parents teach their children appropriately and then draw a conclusion about successful family education values.

摘要

教育从古至今，对个人成长和社会发展都是非常重要的。作为传播知识途径的教育，一直在人们心目中占有重要地位。然而，人们更多时候关注的学校教育。实际上，学校教育和家庭教育同样重要。家庭教育在近几年逐渐得到人们的重视。
良好的家庭教育与孩子的思维模式以及日常行为有着密切的联系，甚至关系到整个民族的未来。随着中西方文化交流的增进，一些中国人在反思中式家庭教育时，更欣赏美国式家庭教育。然而另一些家长倾心于中国式的严苛教育。对于家庭教育持有的不同态度使得人们思考这样一个问题：典型的中国式家庭教育是否适用于所有的中国家庭？
不少中国文章及报道指出，美国式的家庭教育有值得中国家庭借鉴与学习的地方。美国报纸认为中国家长在提高孩子学习成绩方面值得美国家长学习。本文对中美家庭教育做了一个对比，探讨适合中国孩子的家庭教育以及如何解决中国家庭教育的问题。通过中美两国家庭教育的对比，本文作者想寻求帮助家长解决家庭教育问题的策略以及总结成功家庭教育理念。
