摘要：

本论文从《喜福会》和《阿甘正传》两部电影研究中美家庭教育观念对子女成年生活的影响。通过对比中国家庭和美国家庭子女成年生活的不同，分析了中美家庭教育观念的不同。中国家庭的家庭教育观念主要包括望女成凤；严格地要求子女；过多地干涉和批评子女以及溺爱子女。美国家庭教养观念偏向给予孩子鼓励，赞美，自由和平等。不同的家庭教育观念造就了子女不同的成年生活。笔者希望读者在教育子女方面取其精华，去其糟粕，我们都培养出像阿甘一样快乐；积极；乐观；有责任心的成年人。

Abstract:

This thesis has made a preliminary research on the influence of rearing concept on child’s adult life between Chinese and American families from Joy Luck Club and Forrest Gump. The main purpose of this research is to find out the different child’s adult life of the Chinese and American families, and then analyze the different family rearing concepts. Chinese family rearing concepts include strict requirement, imposed inferences, overmuch criticism and doting love for children. However, American family rearing concepts include parents always encourage children, praise children, treat children equally and give children freedom. Different family rearing concepts bring up different child adult’s life. Family rearing concepts should absorb the advantages of American’s and ignore the disadvantages of Chinese.

1. Introduction
Joy Luck Club and Forrest Gump are very famous movies all over the world. In the movies, there are many plots of family rearing concepts between Chinese and American. Family rearing concepts are very important. With the competition of society is becoming more and more fierce, most of parents start to pay more attention to family rearing concepts, they want to search better ways to educate their children. Different family rearing concepts will cause different influence on child’s adult life. In Joy Luck Club and Forrest Gump, two movies reflect Chinese and American family rearing concepts respectively.
