Abstract
Family education is an indispensable component in the process of cultivating talents. With pre-school children being in the important period of forming their outlook on life and their parents being their first teachers, the pre-school family education is particularly essential. In this paper, Chinese pre-school family education and American pre-school family education are compared from the aspects of concepts, contents, patterns and outcomes. And the reasons for the differences are analyzed. By comparison and analysis, the paper gives some advice on Chinese pre-school family education.

摘 要
家庭教育是人才培养的一大重要组成部分,而学龄前儿童正处于人生观、价值观形成的重要时期,家长又是孩子的第一任老师,学前家庭教育更是至关重要。本文从中美学前家庭教育的观念、内容、模式以及结果方面入手,将两者进行对比,并且分析导致不同的原因。通过对比和分析,为中国学前家庭教育提供一些可行性的建议。

1. Introduction
In today’s highly competitive society, talent training has always been a much-talked-about topic. Family education, an indispensable component in the process of cultivating talents, has aroused the parents’ concern at home and abroad. Family is not only the first environment for children after birth, but also the foundation for the establishment and development of parent-child relationship. In the pre-school period, there being no school education involved, family education during this period is essential in children’s education. Parents and the elders implement guide and nurturance, according to children’s physiological and psychological characteristics as well as the characteristics of development during the sensitive period. They believe that a good pre-school family education can lay a solid foundation for children’s multiple intelligence and healthy personality.
