Abstract: With the development of science and technology, China has kept up with the new century in fashion, people go abroad more often and farther than they did in old days. And this change leads to more intercultural communication. Therefore, English plays an important part in intercultural communication. However, the English teaching in China has not achieved the desired results, only a small number of college students can speak English well. Maybe this is due to the inefficient way of learning English or the rather boring way of teaching English. So, it’s time to change the style of the English teaching, and it is essential for teachers to focus on how to arouse the students’ interests. Fortunately, English movie is introduced into classroom to make up the deficiency, which consists of images, sounds, languages, plots, cultures and so on. It can provide students with real and vivid language scene. What’s more, English movie can help students come to a better understanding and enrich their practical abilities. With the help of the English movie, we can avoid misunderstandings and conflicts and better communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Besides, English movie is full of the elements in fashion field, and no one can reject the arrival of it.

摘  要：随着世界的发展，中国更加的与时俱进。和过去相比，国人可以更加方便地接触国外的人和事。因此国际间的交流必不可少，而英语的重要性不言而喻。但中国的英语教学并没有取得理想的效果，只有少数大学生可以说好英语，这可能是因为学生的懈怠或是英语教学的枯燥乏味导致的。所以，英语教学方式需要作出适当调整。教师们应该多考虑学生的兴趣爱好，而英语电影绝对深受学生们的喜爱。英语电影集图像，声音，语言，情节，文化等内容为一体，提供给学生真实生动的语言场景。通过英语电影的学习，学生们可以有效地学习英语，提高英语水平。英语电影的魅力不言而喻，所以在英语教学中不可或缺。

With the global economy developing, China has communicated deeply and frequently with countries from all over the world. And the increasing chances of communication between Chinese and foreigners require us to speak English fluently. Therefore, universities must improve the students’ English abilities so as to accord the demand of globalization. Except for the traditional college English teaching, the English movie teaching is gradually applied into the class. For college students learning English, learning with English movies has some advantages. According to the experience from other countries, many Chinese colleges have reformed the English courses, realizing that it is an effective way to learn English by watching English movies. The advantage of the English movie teaching is to create a real living language environment. When watching the English movies, students totally feel entertained, what’s more, they can broaden their vision, knowledge, cultural custom and local conditions of other countries.
