[摘要]:
词汇量的大小是衡量一个外语学习者水平高低的最重要标志。普通高中《英语课程标准》在词汇量方面的要求大大提高了,而且《标准》明确提出要发展学生自主学习和合作学习的能力,形成有效的英语学习策略,《标准》强调学习策略是提高学习效率、发展自主学习能力的先决条件。本文旨在调查高中生英语词汇学习中策略的应用情况,并就学生如何使用这些策略提出一些建议。文中同时指出,教师,作为策略的指导者,也需要对词汇记忆策略的指导给予更多的重视。

Abstract:
Language is composed of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, and as the core of language abilities in communication,vocabulary is considered as the most important element. But the lack of vocabulary is always a major factor that prevents students from raising their English level.Especially for senior middle school students,The thesis aims at making a survey among high school students about their use of memory strategies in vocabulary learning, and giving some suggestion.

1. Introduction
Vocabulary is the building material of a language.It is very important for second language learners to acquire as many English words as possible.But for a long time, vocabulary received inadequate attention from both researchers and teachers.Rare researchers buried themselves in this aspect of language learning and language teachers thought that vocabulary could be left to take care of itself in language learning process.As a matter of fact, language learners meet great trouble in vocabulary learning.As to Chinese students,although they spend a lot of time on memorizing English words, they still suffer from vocabulary inadequacy.So how the learners can get a good return from their effort put into vocabulary learning is of great importance.In this case,teachers should make more effort to help students overcome learning barriers and build up their confidence in English learning.In this study, an investigation has been conducted among 150 middle school students to identify and analyze their beliefs about vocabulary learning,the employment of vocabulary learning strategies as well as obstacles existing in their process of vocabulary learning.It is hoped what has been obtained in this study can contribute to vocabulary teaching and learning in practice and help students develop their autonomous learning.
