Abstract:

Psychological characteristics of personality are embodied in a person with typical, stable characteristics of psychological process, which includes the three aspects of temperament, character and ability. This topic concerns the research of the relationship and its impact between psychological characteristics of personality and academic achievements of college English majors. Firstly, the paper conducts the definition and interpretation of psychological characteristics of personality, and meanwhile, it interprets the three terms of ability, temperament and character. Secondly, it conducts the analyses of the relationship and its impact between the three levels of ability, temperament and character and academic achievements of college English majors. Then, the paper offers referential learning strategies on influencing academic achievements of college English majors. At last, it comes to conclusion. It is hoped that the study has an active instruction on professional learning of college English majors.

摘要：

个性心理特征是表现在一个人身上典型的、比较稳定的心理过程的特点，主要包括气质、性格和能力三个方面。本课题是对个性心理特征与高校英语专业学生的学业成绩之间的关系影响进行研究。文章首先对个性心理特征进行定义和阐释，同时对能力、气质和性格三个术语分别进行解释。其次从能力、气质、性格三个层面分别对高校英语专业学生学业成绩的影响进行分析。接着就影响英语专业学生学业成绩提出可供参考的学习策略。最后是结论。希冀此项研究对英语专业学生的专业学习有着积极的指导意义。

Introduction
 It is well known that English plays an important role in recent society. There can be no doubt that English is one of the most widely used languages in the world, so learning English is very important. Among all the factors that influence learners’ English learning, psychological characteristics of personality are definitely a critical one. It has a close relationship with the learners’ achievements in English learning. Thus, how we can inspire and develop psychological characteristics of personality becomes a big problem.
In this paper, the author is going to focus on the relationship between psychological characteristics of personality and academic achievements of English majors and aim to discuss the strategies to inspire and develop psychological characteristics of personality.
