Abstract
This paper aims to study the phenomenon and the countermeasures of Chinglish in non-English majors’ writing. This paper focuses on the differences of thinking modes and means of expression between Chinese and English with Theories of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), Transfer Theories in SLA as theoretical basis, analyzing the forms of Chinglish phenomena in English writings from existing corpus and what I have collected from the compositions of one non-English majors’ class in order to probe into the causes and countermeasures of Chinglish and offer pedagogical implications and suggestions for EFL teaching and learning.

本文旨在研究非英语专业学生写作中的中式英语现象的成因及其对策。本文将从汉英语思维模式与表达方式的区别入手,以第二语言习得、语言迁移等理论作为理论依据,对语料库现有的和本人从非英语专业某班的随堂作文中所收集到的写作中中式英语现象的表现形式进行分析,从而得出中式英语的成因并探讨应对策略,希望能对未来的英语写作教学起到一定的指导作用。

1. Introduction
Nowadays, China plays an increasingly important role in the global affairs. With further development of China, the relationship between China and other countries have grown steadily closer in the past decades in such aspects as economy, culture, and politics, etc. As a result, foreign languages, especially English, are used frequently on many different occasions. But because of different cultural background and thinking modes between Chinese and English, Chinglish has become a major obstacle to accurate communication. Furthermore, Chinglish is also a remarkable phenomenon in spoken English and written English. Chinglish exists everywhere in students’ compositions, so it is urgent to analyze it and to find out effective countermeasures to minimize it, never to say eliminate it.
1.1 Definition of Chinglish
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate potential Chinglish in non-English majors’ writings, so a definition of Chinglish should be proposed. Here are different versions offered by different researchers.
