摘要

“项目教学法”是一种渐趋流行的新教学方法,如今被广泛地应用于英语教学中,以弥补我国外语教学的真实性语言环境缺失的先天不足。本文主要研究项目教学法在英语阅读教学中的运用。一方面,通过个案研究和访谈旨在探究项目教学法在英语阅读教学中的可行性和有效性。另一方面,希望通过本次研究为英语阅读教学提供参考经验,从而使教育者能够更有效地进行英语阅读教学活动,受教育者能够更有效地学到知识。因此,从一定程度上来说,该论文具有实际意义和价值。

Abstract

The Project-Based Approach is becoming more and more popular in education recently, and it is widely applied in English teaching,which can make up the missing authentic language environment of foreign language teaching in China. This paper studies the application of Project-Based Approach in English reading class. On one hand, it aims at exploring the feasibility and validity through case study and interview. On the other hand, the study tries to put forward the corresponding teaching experience, in order to help the educators carry out English class better and enable the students to learn English more effectively. So to some degree this paper is realistically meaningful and valuable.

1.Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
English is not only one of the main international languages in today’s world, but the world's most widely used language. With the expansion of our countries’ policy of opening to the outside world, the fast development of science and technology, and the improvement of international position, there is an urgent need for talents who have a good command of English. Therefore, it is of great importance and real significance for students to learn English well. However, the current situation is, due to the traditional English teaching methods, which has exposed many disadvantages and hindered the development of teaching reform, that the students’ English ability is not optimistic. In English reading class, teacher is still the main body, and students can only accept knowledge passively, which leads to a situation that the students learn very little while teachers slave away. In other words, efforts are out of step with gains. Therefore, it is believed that the seasonable introduction of a feasible and effective teaching method has a positive significance to change the current situation. And Project-Based Approach (PBA for short) is such an effective teaching method.
