摘要
近些年来交际教学法在我国得到了广泛的发展,势必在日后的教学过程中得到进一步发展。前人对交际教学法存在不同的看法,对交际教学法的发展前景也存在很大的分歧,归根到底是交际教学法还是一个比较年轻的教学法,本文通过对几位学者的理论进行分析,结合中学英语课堂实际情况,提出自己对交际教学法的理解和观点。此外作者还进入一所中学,以其中一个班为研究对象,将交际教学法应用到其英语口语课堂中,通过个案研究,观察法和调查法发现交际教学法在中学英语口语课堂中应用的不足之处,经过指导老师的帮助以及学生的建议,提出了解决问题的建议。通过这次研究,一定能帮助交际教学法在中学英语课堂中更好的应用。

Abstract
In recent years, the CLT has a widely application in our country. In addition, it is bound to be further developed in the future. In order to understand and use the CLT better, the paper tried to study more about the predecessors’ theories. The CLT is a very young teaching method, which results in the different opinions to it. The author would analysis the formal theories and put forward his own opinions of the CLT according to the present situation of the middle school. In addition, the author carried on a research in a middle school about the application of the CLT. A class was chosen as the object and was given some oral English classes. The author has chosen three research methodologies----the case study, observation and survey. Through the research methodologies, the disadvantages of the CLT would be found out. With the help of the leading teacher and the suggestions of the students, the author would put forward his own suggestions to solve the problems. The research would make the CLT be used better in the English classes of the middle schools.

1. Introduction
1.1 The Background
1.1.1 History of CLT
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) originated from the changes in the British Situational Language Teaching approach dating from the late 1960s. Compared with other teaching methods, it is really very young. But in fact, at the beginning of the 20th century, Saussure (1910) in his book Course in General Linguistics thought that language is one of the language specification and methods that be agreed by a social group. In the 1960s, the British linguist Halliday put forward the notion of “the potential of language" and “actual linguistic behavior”.
But with the deepening of the research on language, the CLT also occurred. In the 1990s, Home Bachman and Palmer put forward the concept of language ability. They thought that language ability is mainly composed of language knowledge and strategy ability.
