摘要

    礼貌现象是各个社会普遍存在的,它存在于所有的国家中,并且在语言学中发挥着必不可少的作用。它能维持和促进和谐的人际关系，使人与人之间的关系变得更为密切。礼貌原则是语用学中一个重要的研究课题，在人们日常交际中有着重大意义。
    然而随着信息产业的发展，如今手机短信已成为人们不可缺少的信息交流方式。它以快捷、方便、经济的特点深受人们的欢迎。短信的语言虽然简短，却传达大量的信息而又不失礼貌。本论文主要论述了手机短信和礼貌策略的关系及手机短信中最常用的一些礼貌策略，以Brown和Levinson的面子理论为基础，通过具体的短信实例，从语用学尤其是从礼貌的视角来研究手机短信，以更好地理解和欣赏手机短信语言。

Abstract

    Politeness is regarded as a common behavior existing in all societies and all over the world and it has been played an indispensable part in linguistics. It can maintain and promote relationships between people,which will make the relationship closer. Politeness Principle, an important research topic in the Pragmatics, is greatly meaningful in people’s daily communication.
    However, with the development of the information industry, mobile phone short message has become an indispensable mode of information exchange. This thesis mainly focuses on the relationship between short message and politeness strategies. Based on Brown and Levinson’s face theory, we get to have a better understanding of the short message.

1.1 Purpose of this thesis
Politeness is regarded as an essential behavior all over the world and it has been played an indispensable part in linguistics. It can maintain and promote relationships between people,which will make the relationship closer. In a world, politeness is a good strategy for us to communicate well and effectively.
Today, with technological advancements, the pace of life is increasing. Then people tend to seek more convenient way to communicate. Therefore, short message is popular in today’s life with its convenience and flexibility features. So it is necessary to investigate the relationship between short message and Politeness Principle.
