摘　要

英语国家的新闻，受到英语语言特征、文化背景、风俗习惯等因素的影响，形成了独特的文体特征。要准确地理新闻的内容或进行新闻的汉译工作，必须对其文体特征具有一定的了解。新闻英语的任务是向读者有效地传播信息，并使读者一目了然，因此，在选择新闻英语词汇上就必须遵循一个原则：直截了当，通俗易懂。为了遵循这个原则，了解及掌握新闻英语词汇的特点至关重要。本文共有三部分，第一部分简单介绍文章的意义目的；第二部分就英语新闻写作的一般用词特点，对短小词；缩略词；新创词汇以及借用其他领域的词汇等方面做了一定研究。第三部分为总结，本文着重从词汇的角度进行论述，在帮助读者了解相关的英语知识，掌握更多时新的英语词汇的同时，帮助读者了解新闻英语单词的一些构词方法，提高记忆效果，帮助读者更好地理解英语新闻。

Abstract

News in English countries has influenced by the features of English linguistic, culture background, social customs and habits. Because of those elements news has a unique type of writing characteristic. In order to understand news’s contents or translate them into Chinese currently we must understand its type of writing characteristic comprehensively. News English's mission is to effectively disseminate information to readers, and readers at a glance, therefore, in selecting the news on English vocabulary must adhere to a principle: direct, straightforward and easy to understand. As a special English writing style, it has a distinctive feature of its vocabulary. So, in order to follow this principle, to understand and master the characteristics of news English vocabulary is essential. This paper consists of three parts, the first part describes the meaning of a simple purpose; second part has done some research on the general terms of the characteristics of the English news writing: the short term; acronyms; ups vocabulary and borrowing words of other areas. The third part is conclusion. This paper tried to discuss the point of view of vocabulary and help the reader understand the relevant knowledge of English, as well as grasp more new vocabulary. It will also make the reader understand the News English words’ word formation and help the readers to improve the memory and better understanding of English news.

1 Introduction
1.1 The purpose and significance of this paper
English newspapers, as one of the learning tools, are very popular among our college students such as China Daily, 21st Century and so on. News is not only the mainly way that people can know what happened in today’s world, but also linguists can know the development tendency of the linguistics from read news. Under the globalization, English news plays an important role in spreading the international affairs and leading the population of linguistics. English news has its own linguistic features, which includes textual features and syntactic features, even embody in its special use of vocabulary.
