摘　要

中美文化在很多方面存在差异，比如社会关系、教育方式、友谊观、面子观等。《刮痧》是一部经典电影，通过表现一个移居美国八年的中国家庭的生活，反映了中美两国之间的文化差异。影片将中国人认为近乎是本能的行为放在了西方文化背景中，却遭到了西方伦理观的质疑、排斥甚至反对。不同文化衍生出来的伦理观念的巨大差异，也引发对此现象的深层反思。本文在文化交流与融合、碰撞与冲突这一主题下，通过对影片中误解和冲突的分析，揭示中西方文化在思维模式、人际关系及法律观念等诸多方面都存在着极大的差异，通过对电影所反映的中美两国人们不同的价值观念的对比，作者得出了导致文化冲突的两个根源。第一个是历史和地理条件的影响，另一个是精神核心包括儒家思想和个人主义。本文试图找出避免文化冲突的办法，进一步缩小文化鸿沟。

Abstract

Chinese and American cultures are different in many aspects such as social relationships, education values, relationship between friends and the value about face and so on. The film Guasha is a classic film which mirrors the cultural differences between China and America by presenting the life of a Chinese family who has immigrated to America for eight years. This film puts the Chinese people’s instinctive behaviors into a western culture; but it is questioned, excluded and even met with opposition by the western ethics. Different cultures lead to ethical differences, so this phenomenon causes the deep thinking of the author. By writing this paper, the author aims to reveal eastern and western cultural differences in thinking models, interpersonal relationship and awareness of law. By making a comparison of Chinese and American different values reflected in the film, the author draw a conclusion that there are two roots of these cultural clashes. One is the influences of history and geographical condition, while the other is their essentials of mind, they are Confucianism and individualism. This paper attempts to avoid cultural conflict and to further shorten the cultural gap．

1 Introduction
In 2005, Wang Jin said in his paper Cultural myth and identity politics “film is a special form of the representational politics.” The movie Guasha acts as the easiest way to find the differences and also the bridge of communication between China and America.  Guasha reflects the difference of value and culture views between western society and Chinese society. Chinese society has been receiving impact of Confucianism for thousands years. As a whole and abstract community with a certain stereotype, Chinese people have strong power to make their culture survival and preserve the integrity. So conflicts in culture and value are unavoidable. These conflicts have been shown in the story.
