摘  要

本文主要讨论了《当幸福来敲门》该部电影所折射出来的美国梦的内容的分析与研究及意义。《当幸福来敲门》是2006上映的美国电影，出自意大利著名导演加布里尔•穆奇诺之手。该部电影反映了在美国历史上一个亘古不变的话题：美国梦。首先，本文综合了现阶段国内外学者对“美国梦”的研究成果，对其思想的定义及见解看法进行阐述。其次，通过研究分析《当幸福来敲门》这部电影的内容，结合现当代的背景，分别通过语篇分析、历史研究等剖析“美国梦”在当代社会的发展，并赋予新的内容。最后，本文总结了《当幸福来敲门》中美国梦的体现及其意义。本文旨在通过《当幸福来敲门》中“美国梦”的思想含义进行解读及延伸，通过影片讨论现当代社会所折射出来的价值主流观念和生活理念，并赋予“美国梦”的现代意义，唤起人们在现实社会中更深的思考。

Abstract

This paper illuminates the film The Pursuit of Happyness and analyses the significance of the American Dream. This American film was released in 2006, which directed by the famous Italian director Gabriel Muccino. Its content reflects the eternal immutable subject in American history: the American Dream. Firstly, the article presents the achievement of researches done by scholars at home and abroad, and then summarizes some ideas to present an overview of the American Dream, such as the definition and creative background. Secondly, through a stylistic analysis of the plot and content of this film, the paper then tries to point out that the best way to embody the significance of this dream and entrust the newly content with the current background. Finally, paper summaries the importance of the American Dream. Through interpreting the meaning of the dream, this paper discusses the values and life conception of currency and endows the contemporary significance and arouses the deeper reflection of people.

1 Introduction
Pretty Women said everybody dreams about the American Dream, someone has made success while others have failed, nevertheless, the dream will be dreamed forever. The sentence appears at the beginning of this American film, in nowadays we can still sense the overwhelming strength of this dream. Carl neumann Degler is an American historian and once he pointed that the American Dream actually is similar to the Americanism. It presents the thought which is adored and cherished, and includes democracy, freedom, equal opportunity, worship money and success and so on. The American Dream is firstly used by James Truslow Adams, the American historian, in the book The Epic of America.  The definition of this dream has pointed out by James in 1931 that "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. It was the Great Depression at that time of America, James wanted to remold the hope and tradition for thousands of American people who have lost their source of income. The American Dream provides mysterious atmosphere and sense of pride, although it is a future myth.
