摘　要

随着改革开放和经济的快速发展，世界各国的交流越来越频繁，也显得日益重要。其中身势语在跨文化交际中起着不可或缺的作用。由于各国的文化、风俗等不同，身势语也传递着不同的意思。然而，不同的身势语也可能表示相同的意义。因此学习和了解各个国家各种不同的身势语是十分必要的。本文通过阐述、分析和对比各国家的肢体语言，总结出各类身势语在不同国家与场合所表示的含义，借此唤起人们对身势语的重视和学习。此外本文还列举了一些掌握身势语的有效方法，只有熟悉身势语的用法，才可以避免在跨文化交际中产生误解，从而促进更好的交流。

Abstract

With reform and opening and the rapid development of economy, every country in the world communicates with each other more and more frequently which is far more important. What’s more, body language plays an indispensable role in cross-cultural communication. Because of different cultures and customs in every country, body language delivers different meanings. However, different body languages may also show the same meaning. Therefore, it is necessary to learn and know different body languages in various countries. This paper illuminates, analyzes and contrasts body languages in many countries to summarize all kinds of body languages’ meanings in different countries and situations. It can remind people to attach great importance to body language. In addition, this paper also lists some effective methods for mastering body language. Only being familiar with the usage of body language can people avoid misunderstanding in intercultural communication so as to better promote communication.

1 Introduction
   Body language is referred to as attitude which Human beings use to express and convey their thoughts and feelings by facial expressions, body posture and gestures. It is one of the most important forms in non-verbal communication which plays an important role in intercultural communication as well as languages and it is inextricably linked with culture. Because of different regions, races and cultural customs, the meanings of body language from different cultures are not identical. They are restricted by the culture but have their own unique cultural connotations.
