Abstract
Combined with culture factors, and under the influence of Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism based on cultivation culture, a special Chinese tea culture came into being. In the 17th century, Chinese tea began to be brought into European market through trade. Although so many countries had joined Chinese tea consumption, only British set up their own system of tea culture. China and Britain are both large tea-drinking countries. They have different historical origins and cultural backgrounds, so their tea culture is different. Through comparison of Chinese and British tea culture, the writer not only has a deeper understanding to the history of China and UK, but also learns how the Britain absorbs other tea culture, remains some of the alien tea culture, creates and forms its own tea culture. The writer prepares to analyze from six aspects about their developments of history, tasting, tea sets, tea etiquette, tea ceremony and the influence of tea culture by using the comparative method. This paper not only carries on the comparison of the six aspects but conducts a thorough analysis, making readers more in-depth understanding of British and Chinese culture and their cultural differences, and causes readers to think about how to inherit Chinese traditional culture.
