Abstract
In today’s society, traveling has become a popular way to understand foreign cultures. Spreading Chinese culture to foreign countries has become a vital goal of Chinese tourism industry. Properly translated scenic spot introduction may well reflect the local culture and attract potential tourists from abroad. This essay is based on Spokos theory, discussing about the translation principles and strategies of scenic spot introduction, summarizing that we should follow tourist-oriented principle, understandable principle, accurate principle and international principle as well as apply simplicity strategy, omission strategy, supplement strategy and cultural distinction strategy in the future translation. This essay takes English introductions of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum and Ming Tomb as examples to illustrate that the translation should add more information based on tourist-oriented principle and accurate principle. Besides, it should also apply simplicity strategy and omission strategy based on cultural distinction strategy.
