摘 要

中国人和西方人在婚姻观念上存在诸多差异。究其根源，中西婚姻文化的差异的根本在于中西方人们的宇宙观、世界观的差异。这些差异在婚姻文化的产生与塑造成型过程中起着主导性的作用，具体来说，则是中西方社会意识形态上的差异，也就是哲学体系上的差异，中国的哲学体系经过以儒家学说为主要代表的诸多哲学派系长期作用，形成了一套独特的中式婚姻文化体系，而西方则在长期的宗教、自然科学发展中形成了另一套完全不一样的婚姻文化体系。这在中西结婚典礼以及婚姻观的差异上表现尤为明显。西方人认为：婚姻纯属个人私事，任何人不能干涉 ；同时婚姻不属于道德问题。一个人有权选择和自己最喜欢的人生活在一起。而中国的传统婚姻观，一般都讲百年好合，一定终身。当今中西交往也日益频繁，也有很多跨国婚姻，通过对中西婚姻文化的对比，可以促进我们正确理解其中的差异，从而为世界全球化带来积极的意义

Abstract

There are a lot of differences between Chinese and Westerners on marital concepts. The fundamental reason lies in that views on the universe and world differ between them. These differences play a dominant role in the shaping and molding of marital culture, which, concretely, can be seen as the difference in social ideology as well as philosophical systems. Chinese philosophical system, mainly represented by Confucianism, produces a unique set of marital culture in a long history while a totally different cultural marital system shaped in the development of Western religion and natural science. Great disparity exists in marriage ceremony and marriage views. The Western people regard marriage as a private matter in which no one could interfere — marriage has nothing to do with moral ethics and people have rights to choose whom they prefer to stay together. In China, however, people put more emphasis on the love that will last once and forever. With more and more frequent communication between China and the Western world, mixed marriages appear more often than ever. Through comparing Chinese and Western marital culture, we can better understand their differences, thus bringing greater significance to globalization.

Chapter 1  Introduction
An increasing number of cultural conflicts appear with the trend of globalization. The difference between Chinese marriage and Western marriage is one of those conflicts. There are lots of differences between Chinese marriage and Western marriage.
As to the purpose of marriage, we, Chinese, often want to extend the advantages and the federation of the two families. Thus, we keep the family’s ancestry and carry on our family names by marriage. While Westerners’ purpose of marriage has two points: the first is that the lovers want a prefect ending of their love. And the second is that they want to accompany their other half-circles. Except the purpose of marriage, the standard of choosing spouse is different. China’s traditional standard of choosing spouse includes the background of the family and fitting alliance. Now the youth in China do not need to scrupulously abide by those standards, but they are still influenced by the tradition.
