摘要

本文的目的在于通过分析礼貌原则和合作原则的对立统一关系，指导它们在商务信函中的应用。
方法是本文通过对礼貌原则和合作原则以及其各条准则的分析，提出它们之间存在相互退让的对立统一关系，而且这种关系不是静态的，而是动态的，互相交际的产物。在结合商务信函写作的7C的语言特点和商务信函的写作技巧的基础上，本文分析了礼貌原则和合作原则在不同类型的商务信函中的应用，并由此得出结论——优先考虑原则，即在传达有消极信息的商务信函中，应该优先考虑礼貌原则，少考虑一点合作原则，而在其他的商务信函中可以礼貌原则和合作原则并重。另外，本文还从语用学的角度提出了一些关于商务信函的写作原则，可以帮助作者更好的运用合作原则和礼貌原则，并提高言语交际的能力。
其意义在于通过对礼貌原则和合作原则的分析，并结合其他的商务信函写作原则，更好地书写商务信函，以取得更佳的沟通效果。

ABSTRACT

This thesis is aimed at the application of politeness principle and cooperative principle in business letter writing by analyzing their relationship.
This thesis is to analyze cooperative principle and politeness principle, and their maxims, and then point out the fact that they have a kind of complementary relation, which is not static, but dynamic mutual communication products. Based on 7 Cs principles of business letters and some business letter writing skills, this thesis probes into how cooperative principle and politeness principle are applied in different types of business letters. In light of this, the thesis is intended to put forward the principle of preferential consideration. We conclude that when we write business letters with negative information, we should give priority to politeness principle, and have to underestimate cooperative principle. While in other situations, we should pay our attention to both cooperative principle and politeness principle. What's more, the present research may provide business letter writing with some guiding principles from the pragmatic view, thus helping them to make a better application of cooperative principle and politeness principle and communicative competence.
The significance of this research is to help the readers have a better understanding of the business letter writing and get better communicative results through analysis of politeness principle and cooperative principle and some other guidelines of business letter.
