摘要

迈克尔•杰克逊是一个伟大的艺术家但同时也颇受争议，本文将深刻讨论他在音乐、舞蹈成就和社会成就，还有他在抵制种族歧视方面做出的努力，以纪念这位为人类社会做出重大贡献的黑人艺术家。文章采用理论分析的方法，首先提出文化和文化价值等概念的相关定义和理解，然后采用个别分析，最后以迈克尔•杰克逊为例，深入浅出，做到对人物价值分析的客观性和全面性。随着社会的发展，文化和文化价值的分析日益复杂，此次尝试还存在很多不足。由于历史和社会的原因，我国文化方面的研究落后于西方，对外国名人的文化研究更少。本论文重在实现对外国名人的文化研究的探索和尝试。

Abstract

Michael Jackson is a great artist. His incomparable musical talents, sweet songs as well as his astonishing dances attract people all around the world. His fans always respect him no matter whether he is alive or dead. However, American media just focus on his negative aspect-how he earned the money. The powerful American media criticize his skin and pederasty. This paper focused on Michael Jackson’s achievements on singing, dancing and fighting against racialism to honor this remarkable artist. Based on theoretic analysis, this paper firstly tells several definitions of the concepts of culture and cultural values. And then, it will analyze an artist’s cultural values. At last, it studies Michael Jackson’s artistic and social achievements. With the high-paced society, the term ‘culture’ becomes more and more complicated. In China, people were confined to dominant ideologies and they had no freedom to talk about human being’s benefits, values and requirements during the tumultuous Cultural Revolution. Many previous researches on cultural values cannot catch up with the ones in the Western countries. This paper is a modest attempt in this respect.

His incomparable musical talents, sweet songs as well as his astonishing dances attract people all around the world, who always respect him no matter whether he is alive or dead. However, American media just focus on his negative thing that is the best way to make money. The powerful American media will not care about this great singer’s outstanding creativity and limitless passion until his death. It is so pathetic that people start to learn from this singer’s songs and to admire his spirits after his death. This paper is trying to reveal Michael Jackson’s cultural values and remember this great artist.
