摘  要

中国对外开放程度越来越高，中国人民对国外的事物、思想的接触和理解也逐渐加深。在这个过程中，毫无疑问会发现一些区别，文化，风俗，行为等方面。克服文化差异被认为是有效沟通的基石。然而，什么是文化？中国人和美国人对孩子谈恋爱持不同态度，处理方式也有区别。中国人把它称为早恋，持反对态度，而美国人则认为很正常，这又是为什么？过去的几十年里，中国的一些学者已经就早恋这个问题作了一些研究，也有相关书籍。但是美国人似乎不怎么关心这个问题。这意味着什么呢？
本文以文化为理论依据，以案例分析为研究方法，致力于研究父母对孩子早恋问题的处理。文章首先阐述了文化的含义，然后介绍早恋和两个案例，然后从价值观和教育方面进行分析比较，最后为认识中美某些文化差异提出自己的看法，以及找出需要向别人学习的地方。
本文将为大家理解和认识文化差异提供参考，同时为家长教育孩子提供参考意见。

Abstract

With the development of China, China is more and more open to outer world. And Chinese people also get to know more and deeper about foreign things and ideas. And in the course of knowing others, there is no doubt that we may find some differences in culture, custom, behaviors and so on. Narrowing the gap in culture is believed the beginning of effective communication.
But what is culture? And people in China and America hold different views towards puppy love, zaolian in Chinese. And they deal with it in different ways. Chinese people are against it, while Americans think it’s quite normal. Why? Many Chinese authors have already done some research on the project over the past decades. And there are books published focusing on the topic, but Americans do not care about it as much as we do. What does that imply?
This thesis employs culture as theoretical foundation. It adopts case study as research methods. It first gives a brief introduction to the definition of culture; then it introduces the definition of puppy love and the two cases about puppy love. After that, it presents the factors related to the differences, and throw light upon education and values. At last, it provides some suggestions for understanding the cultural differences between China and America in some aspects, and point out some shining points that we can use.   
The result of this thesis will be a supplement to the literature on understanding cultural differences and be able to provide some reference for the education of children.
