摘要

灾难片用高超的特技表现天灾人祸降临之际的恐慌和动乱场面，同时用电影表现的形式演绎人们在灾难来临时不顾个人安危，为朋友、亲人、爱人甚至陌生人牺牲自己，保全他人的伟大奉献精神。本论文重点介绍美国两部灾难大片——《泰坦尼克》和《后天》，并对影片中展现的人文关怀——在恐怖致命的灾难面前，人们互相关爱、彼此扶持——进行深入剖析。这种发自内心的关怀是灾难电影不可或缺的精神元素。
灾难片让人们重新审视生命的价值，珍惜现在，懂得责任。人性之美在摧毁中得到了进一步的升华。灾难片要告诉我们的不是灾难的可怕，而是通过人文关怀的手法，讲述人性的真善美和生命的可贵。本文旨在从电影故事情节分析的角度出发，透析其中的人文关怀，并弘扬这种精神。

ABSTRACT

Disaster films use fantastic plots, grand occasion and strong audio-visual effects to show panic and turmoil when human beings encounter the disasters. The films also deduct some people who contribute their life and sacrifice themselves for friends, relatives, lovers or even strangers regardless of personal safety in face of disaster. This thesis mainly introduces two successful disaster films - Titanic and the Day after Tomorrow, and analyzes humanistic care - in the face of disaster, people love each other and support each other – in depth. The heartfelt concern is the essential elements of disaster film.
Disaster films not only let people reexamine the value of life and the dignity of life, but also let people cherish today and understand liability. The beauty of human nature has gained further sublimation in destroying. The real meaning of disaster films is not about the terrible natural disasters, but through a moving story, showing the beauty of human nature, and let us know the value of life. This thesis analyzes the film plot and gaines insight about the humanistic care in it, thus advocates the spirit.

1    Introduction
In this thesis, the author tries to analyze two famous disaster films produced by James Cameron and Roland Emmerich respectively. One is Titanic; the other is the day after tomorrow. Before going further with the analyses, the thesis will first answer the following four questions people are quite interested in. What is the disaster films and why people are deeply appealed by disaster films? What are the main characters contribute to the success of Titanic and the Day after Tomorrow? What is the significance of doing research about disaster films?
Disaster film is a film genre that has an impending or ongoing disaster (such as a damaged airliner, fire, shipwreck, or an asteroid collision) as its subject. These films typically feature large casts of well-known actors and multiple plotlines, focusing on the characters' attempts to avert, escape or cope with the disaster.
