Abstract
With the development of cultural globalization, Western cultures are constantly melting with Chinese cultures. The overall situation of Chinese youth on a festival can be described as A Study of the Booming of Foreign Festivals and the Vanishing of Traditional Chinese Festivals in China traditional Chinese festivals on the one hand and foreign festivals booming on the other hand. During traditional Chinese festivals, young people generally spend time with their family. The age gap then, makes young people find it difficult to really have fun. At the same time, Western festivals, especially symbolic American festivals, different from the traditional Chinese ones, attract the majority of the Chinese young people's with their exotic flavors. The romance of Valentine's Day, the excitement and lively atmosphere of Christmas, and the humor of April Fool's Day, never fail to appeal to the Chinese youth even if sometimes these young people would need to spend a moderately large sum of money to get the festive fun. A yellow-complexioned Chinese, speaking Chinese, who may even has never had any religious belongings in the case of Christmas, showcases great interest in Western festivals, really make others feel odd. And that is why many elder people have always accused the Chinese Youth of forgetting their own Chinese root. Is it true that by resisting Western festivals, we can revive China's traditional cultures? The answer is no. Maintenance of traditional Chinese festivals, is not exclusive to a simple gesture of cultural conservatism, nor to simply close the door to Christmas or other Western festivals, but to prevent the waves resulting from globalization such as the emptiness of national cultures, and commercial orientation. And in the end, we create a new era of the revival of traditional Chinese festive cultures.
