摘要：

在汉英语言中，词语的褒贬义是一种普遍存在的现象，而且有些词语本身就具备鲜明的感情色彩，褒贬义的产生主要是受言语活动中所出现的种种因素制约的结果。由于褒贬词带有强烈的褒贬倾向,富有表现力,又常带有某种社会文化内涵,在实际交往中占有重要的地位,因此,弄清褒贬词的有关问题,是很有必要的。从分析褒贬词的感情色彩角度入手,主要探讨以下问题:动物词汇感情色彩的界定问题;中英文化中带有褒贬义的动物词汇对比解析；动物词汇褒贬义词的历史演变问题。通过大量实例，了解汉英动物词汇褒贬义的差异，从而希望为汉英学习者更好地把握词的感情色彩、增强词语表达效果提供一些有益的参考。

Abstract：

In Chinese-English language, the commendatory and derogatory meaning of words is a universal phenomenon. And that, some words and phrases themselves have distinct emotional color. The cause of commendatory and derogatory meanings is restricted by different factors involved in speech activities.As these words with a strong tendency to appraise and expression, and often with some kind of social and cultural connotations, playing an important role in the actual, therefore, it is necessary to make these problems clear. This article starts from the analysis of emotional color of the words, researching the derogatory –commendatory words from new view. It includes three questions: first, the definition of emotional color of derogatory - commendatoryWords ; second, the comparative analysis on derogatory – commendatory animal words in the Chinese-English culture; third, the history of the evolution of derogatory – commendatory Words .This article illustrates the language similarities and differences of the commendatory and derogatory meanings of animal words and phrases with a lot of example, for the purpose of providing english leaners with practical refernces for their correct use of words and phrases.

1. Introduction
The US linguist Edward Sapir pointed out, in his masterpiece “Bloomfield:Language Study Introduction”, that “language can’t live without culture, i.e., those which are not separated from the society to spread down decided our ethnic custom and what we believe.” But for language culture couldn’t have come into being and foregrounded; without culture language wouldn’t have been built and established. Language were affected by culture in its existence, establishment, and development.
Cultural difference appears in many aspects. On one hand, People from different countries may associate with different things when facing the same thing because of different background; On the other hand, the same thing in different cultures may refract different emotional coloring, which may affect people’s normal communication. This occasion can be reflected in vocabulary. This paper, through an analysis of animals’ images in English vocabulary, and a contrast with animals’ images in Chinese vocabulary, to find the commendatory and derogatory coloring in English and Chinese vocabulary, and experience English and Chinese traditional culture.
