Abstract:

On the 10th of April, 1912, the great ship Titanic started on its first voyage, sailing from Southampton to New York. As one of the largest and most luxurious liners at that time, the Titanic was thought by many to be unsinkable. However on April 14, the ship hit an iceberg, and early the next morning it sank, resulting in the death of some 1,500 people. Because of the tragedy, the Titanic became perhaps the best-known ship in the world, capturing the public imagination and inspiring popular books and movies. And in 1997, just 85 years after the tragic sinking, the historical event was made into a romantic adventure movie by James Cameron, the famous Hollywood director. At the time of its release the movie became quite a phenomenon and there were even reports of people seeing the movie dozens of times in the theatre. Why was the movie so successful? What charm does the movie possess? To better answer this question, this paper presents a discussion and interpretation of the love theme in the movie Titanic. After a brief introduction of its creation and the outline of the story of the movie, this paper focuses on the love theme of the movie, and presenting an in-depth discussion and interpretation of the love theme. This part includes the discussion of the development of love between Rose and Jack, and also the theme music which constitutes a very important part of the movie. Meanwhile some of the most important characters in the movie are also mentioned as a support to the discussion and interpretation in this paper.

摘  要：

1912年4月10日，世界豪华游船泰坦尼克号在英国南安普敦出发到纽约的第一次航行。当时它是一艘最大最豪华的游船。泰坦尼克号在人们心目中是不沉之船。然而，4月14日，游船与冰山相撞，到了次日早上船完全沉没，导致1500名死亡。由于这场悲剧，泰坦尼克号能成为众所周知的游船，而且它发挥了众人的想象力，即拍成电影，又出版为书。在1997年，也就是悲剧发生85年之后，那场历史性事件由好莱坞著名导演詹姆斯•卡梅隆拍成了一部浪漫冒险电影。当这部电影上映了之后给人们带来了巨大的轰动，甚至有报道说有些人在电影院看了数十次。为什么这部电影如此成功呢？它的魅力是什么呢？为了能更好理解这些为题，本论文将解释讨论电影泰坦尼克号中的爱情主题，然后简单介绍泰坦尼克号的创作和电影概要，本论文集中讨论电影的爱情，呈现深度讨论解释爱情。这部分包含讨论萝丝和杰克的爱情发展，还有在电影中占重要部分的主题曲。同时，为了本论文的讨论与解释，提到了有些电影中的主要人物。
