ABSTRACT

Harry Potter series has created one miracle after another in the world literature since it was published in 1997. People are attracted by this boy who is wearing glasses and riding a broom. Now more and more readers are paying attention to the women characters in this series of novels. The witches’ images leave profound impression to the reader. They are powerful in Hogwarts, not inferior to the wizards. They use their wisdom to help Harry defeat Voldemort finally, they are able to control the situation and resolve conflicts. They pursue freedom and happiness. And they do not follow those foolish or unreasonable laws and regulations blindly. They are not disadvantaged women who are dependent on men; they are brave, kind, thoughtful. They are new women who are the most vibrant colors of the magic world.

This thesis uses feminism as the main point and analyzes British feminists characteristics reflected in Harry Potter series. First, this thesis describes the British feminism, including the history of development of feminism and the process of feminism in the English literature. Secondly, this thesis carries out a detailed analysis of the author, JK Rowling's, and heroine Hermione, especially their feminist characteristics. Finally, through the analysis of feminist characteristics reflected in Harry Potter series, this thesis draws three characteristics of British feminists: confidence and independence, solidarity and cooperation and helping vulnerable groups. Then these three features elaborate further.

《哈利•波特》系列小说自1997 年诞生以来就在世界文坛创造了一个又一个奇迹。人们被英国女作家J.K Rowling罗琳描绘的这个戴着眼镜、骑着扫帚的小男巫吸引的同时，也越来越关注这部系列小说中鲜明的女性形象，这些女巫形象也给读者们留下了极其深刻的印象。她们是霍格沃兹的重要力量，完全不逊色于男性巫师。她们运用自己的聪明才智协助哈利最终打败伏地魔，她们能够控制局面、化解冲突，她们追求自由和幸福，并不一味地遵循那些愚蠢的或不合理的法律与法规，她们不是依赖于男性而处于弱势的女性群体，她们是勇敢、善良、有思想、有个性的不可忽视的全新女性，她们是魔法世界的最鲜明的色彩。
本文以女性主义为切入点，对《哈利•波特》中所体现出的英国女性主义特征进行分析。首先，文章对英国的女性主义进行了介绍，包括了女性主义发展的历史和英国文学中女性主义的发展过程。其次，本文对《哈利•波特》的作者J.K Rowling和书中女主角赫敏的人物性格进行详细的分析，特别是她们身上的女性主义特征。最后，本文通过对《哈利•波特》中的女性主义进行分析，得出目前英国女性主义的三个特征：自信独立，团结合作和帮助弱势群体。并对这三个特征进一步进行阐述。
