Abstract

Language is the tool of social communication as well as the carrier of culture. The development of exchanges and contacts in society of human history will inevitably bring about language contacts which have  different types, and the most common type is borrowing words. As long as international and social contacts are conducted, word borrowing phenomenon will arise. Each language has a certain number of loan words, English and Chinese make no exceptions. The study of loanwords in Chinese and English is not only useful for understanding the role of loan words in Chinese and English language development, but also helps us to study the historical exchanges and cultural exchanges between  China and the English-speaking countries. On the one hand, the broad absorption and utilization of English loanwords are favorable in enriching and developing Chinese vocabulary and the Chinese national language, on the other hand, however, the problem of language abuse or language misuse may arise if we overuse English loanwords. Standardization of borrowing words is related to the pure and healthy development of Chinese language. With the relevant research and information, this paper intends to use the related theory of borrowing words to investigate and analyze the absorption and integration of Chinese and English loanwords so as to help the bilingual users deepen the understanding of cultural exchanges and the understanding of many other related linguistic phenomenon .

语言，是社会交际的工具，文明的载体。伴随着人类历史社会中的交流与接触，必定带来语言的接触，接触也有着不同的类型，其中最常见的便是词语的借用。只要有社会之间的接触，就会有词语的借用。每一种语言都有一定数量的借词，英语和汉语也不例外。研究汉英语言中的借词现象，不仅对于了解借词在汉英语言发展中的作用，而且有助于研究中西国家间发展史中民族交流与文化交流状况。于是，其广泛汲取与利用， 有利于汉语辞汇和汉民族语言的丰富和发展，也存在着吸收泛滥与使用混乱从而造成言语污染的问题。外来词的规范化关乎汉语的纯正与健康发展。本课题拟运用有关借词的理论，通过研究与查阅相关资料，探讨和分析在文化吸收与融合的进程中，汉英语言中的借词现象，从而加深了解中西文化交流，加深认识许多相关语言现象。
