摘  要：

语言的模糊性在我们的生活中随处可见。我们使用的所有自然语言都具有模糊性的特点。模糊限制语，作为模糊语言的一部分，在日常交流中扮演着十分重要的角色。新闻，作为获取信息的一个重要途径，与我们的生活息息相关。新闻要求呈现出真实的人物和事件。同时，还要体现信息的新鲜性。因而，时效性成为了新闻的另一个显著特点。模糊限制语，代表着语言模糊性的存在。而新闻则是致力于向观众展现出真实、准确和清晰的事件过程。模糊限制语应用于新闻，看似矛盾，实际上却非如此。因为模糊限制语的存在，新闻的内容会显得更准确。本论文介绍了模糊限制语、新闻以及合作性原则，然后对BBC新闻中的模糊限制语进行了语用分析，表述了模糊限制语与新闻真实性的关系。

Abstract:

Vagueness of language is very common in all aspects of our life. All the natural languages we use are essentially featured by vagueness. Hedges, as a part of vague languages, play a vital role in our daily communications. News, as a very important method to get information, has established a close relationship with our daily life. The content of news is required to be actual people and real events. And it must show the freshness of information, so timeliness is also one influential feature of news. Hedges, which stand for the vagueness of language, are used in the news, which aims to show the real, accurate and clear events to the audience. This phenomenon seems to be contradictory. But in fact, this is true. With hedges, news can be reported in a more accurate way. This paper gives some introductions to hedges, news and Cooperative Principle. And then it makes a pragmatic analysis of hedges in news, especially in BBC news, to describe the relationship between hedges and the truthfulness of news.
