Abstract

Because of the different history, environment and economy, there are many intrinsic differences between Chinese and American culture. Nowadays, in the age of globalization, the cultural collision occurs between Chinese and American culture. Seeking for the fusion of these two cultures is an urgent matter. Ang Lee’s family series is something focuses on the topic and tells the family stories under the cross-cultural differences.
Cultural distinction refers to the geographical differences based on location and the distinctive culture of people from different districts. Ang Lee’s Family Series is made up of three independent films named Pushing Hands, The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink Man Woman, which tells two stories about the differences between Chinese and American culture in the cross-cultural families and another story about the differences between traditional and modern culture in a Taiwanese family. In the Family Series, Ang Lee gives his understanding about the cultural differences and shows his own opinion towards the cultural collision and fusion.
In this paper, the author elaborates the reflections of the cultural differences in Ang Lee’s Family Series, analyzes the causes and discusses the solutions to the problems. Part one introduces the director and the Family Series; part two and three focus on the analysis of family values and diet differences between Chinese and American culture; part four discusses the proper attitude and solutions towards the differences nowadays.

摘  要

由于不同的历史、环境和经济等原因，中美文化间存在着许多固有的差异。现在，在这个全球化的时代中，中美文化出现了冲突。寻求不同文化间的融合是当务之急。李安家庭系列描述的正是在这种差异下的家庭故事。
文化差异指因地区异同，各地区人们所特有的文化异同而产生的差异。李安家庭系列由《推手》《喜宴》《饮食男女》这三部独立电影组成的，讲述了两个跨文化家庭中的中西文化差异和一个台湾家庭中的传统与现代文化差异。在这部家庭系列中，李安展现了他对文化差异的理解，并阐述了他对这种不同文化间的冲突与融合的看法。
笔者希望通过李安家庭系列电影阐述其体现的中美之间的文化差异，分析其成因并探讨解决这一问题的方法。论文第一部分介绍导演及家庭系列电影；第二及第三部分分析中美文化差异在家庭观和饮食中的体现；第四部分探讨在当下应如何正确看待及应对这种差异。
